55 Plus to meet

The 55 Plus Group of Emanuel United Church of Christ will meet at 11:45 a.m. Thursday, April 17, at First United Methodist Church, 200 Market St., Warren, for the community Lenten service.

BonTon lunch group

The BonTon lunch group will meet at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, at Bob Evans in North Warren.

At Chandlers Valley

The Chandlers Valley Community Center, a non-profit organization at 9250 Jackson Run Rd., will have a Flea Market on the third Saturday of each month, May 17 through Sept. 20, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Each 10-foot by 10-foot space will cost $10, and 20-foot by 20-foot space will cost $15. Vendors will be seen clearly from both directions of the well-traveled road while selling their items from the ball field in Chandlers Valley. The center also is looking for vendors for the “Sportsmen’s Challenge Festival” to be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23. The day will include a people pull (similar to a horse pull, but people pull a weighted sled), a judged pie baking contest and pie auction, a judged photo contest, children’s games and events, a silent auction, lawn mower obstacle course, corn hole tournament, a pre-1965 farm tractor cruise in, crafters, food vendors, a flea market and more.

Cancer support offered

The Women’s Cancer Support Group will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 17, in the lobby of the Cancer Care Center. Georgia Ludwig of Virg-Ann Flower Shop will introduce those attending to “Doodle Art,” and those attending also can participate. Any woman who has or had a cancer diagnosis is welcome to join the group. For information, call 726-1786.
