Varsity slate

Here is the varsity slate of action for all county teams from Saturday, April 5:

SATURDAY’S SCHEDULE

Track: Youngsville at Brookville Invitational, 9 a.m.

Postponed

The Strong Vincent at Warren softball game rescheduled to Friday was postponed and will be made up at 4 p.m. Monday, April 14, at the Farm Colony Complex.

The Warren at Mercyhurst Prep game rescheduled for Saturday at Corry High School has been postponed again and will be made up there at 4 p.m. Monday, April 7.

The Harbor Creek at Warren boys tennis scheduled for Saturday has been postponed with no makeup date announced.

The General McLane at Warren baseball game scheduled for Friday was postponed and will be made up 4 p.m. Monday at Old Legion Field.

The Union City at Eisenhower softball game scheduled for Friday was postponed with no makeup date announced.

The Eisenhower at Titusville baseball game scheduled for Friday was postponed with no makeup date announced.

The North East at Youngsville baseball game scheduled for Friday was postponed with no make-up date announced.

The Curwensville at Sheffield doubleheader softball games scheduled for Friday were postponed and will be made up at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 24.

Rescheduled

The Sheffield at East Forest softball game postponed earlier this season has been rescheduled for 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 13.

College news

Warren Area High School graduate Tyler Leichtenberger recorded his second save of the year in Rochester Institute of Technology’s 8-4 victory over Houghton College on Thursday. Leichtenberger has yet to allow a run in six appearances this season, helping the Tigers improve their record to 8-4.

Warren Area High School graduate Ed Dorunda threw a seven-inning complete game and struck out 14 batters in Jamestown Community College’s 8-1 victory over Butler Community College. Dorunda scattered seven hits to help the Jayhawks improve their record to 4-7.

Warren Area High School graduate and current Mercyhurst Laker Hank Morrison was reached base three times after being hit by pitches in two losses to Indiana University of Pennsylvania on Tuesday. Morrison is currently batting .237, helping the Lakers to a record of 15-7.
