Varsity slate

Here is the varsity slate of action for all county teams from Friday, April 4, through Saturday, April 5:


Baseball: General McLane at Warren, 4 p.m.

Eisenhower at Titusville, 4 p.m.

Softball: Sheffield at East Forest, 4 p.m.

Union City at Eisenhower, 4 p.m.

Strong Vincent at Warren, 4 p.m.


Softball: Villa Maria at Warren, noon

Curwensville at Sheffield, 11 a.m.

Track: Youngsville at Brookville Invitational, 9 a.m.

Tennis: Harbor Creek at Warren, 11 a.m.


The Strong Vincent at Warren softball game was postponed and will be made up at 4 p.m. Friday at Hawbaker Field at the Farm Colony Complex.

The Youngsville at Rocky Grove baseball game scheduled for Thursday was postponed with no makeup date announced.

College news

Warren Area High School graduate Emily Lobdell is currently 4-3 with a 3.10 ERA in 58 2/3 innings for the Division II Slippery Rock University women’s softball team. Lobdell has struck out 37 in 12 games, including eight starts. She earned a 4-3 win on Monday over Clarion, allowing three runs in seven innings, and striking out six.

At the plate on the season, the junior is 9-for-31 (.290), striking out just twice.

Big 30 addition

Eisenhower senior Jon Shelton is the latest Warren County addition to the Pennsylvania roster of the Don Raabe Big 30 Charities Classic football game this August.

Shelton was a first-team Region 2 offensive tackle and he also plays defensive end.

Formerly of Eisenhower, Frewsburg Central School senior Trevor Spicer will be on the New York team as a running back/linebacker.
