Fern Hoy, 86, a longtime resident of Warren, died Friday, March 21 in Pittsburgh. She was born in Oil City, PA where she attended Oil City High School. She was employed at Blair, G. G. Green and the Rouse Home.
She especially enjoyed her family, friends, pets, bird watching, and reading
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Max M. Hoy of Warren, daughters Judy (Jack) Hoy of Elizabeth, PA, Betty Moser of Pueblo, CO, DiAnn (George) Savko of Warren, Marsha (Barry) Grim of Boca Raton, FL, son Richard (Sheila) Jennings of Midwest City, OK. She is also survived by her sisters Marion Bickel of Oil City, Avalon “Dutch” Niles of Lander, Jane (Bob) Huck of Mt. Joy, brother Robert “Bud” Powers of Memphis, TN and grandchildren, great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Dan Jennings; sisters, Ruth Huck, Nina Firster, Elva Wilson and grandson David Kline.
At the request of the family, donations may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer Association.
A celebration of her life will be conducted on April 12 at the Salvation Army in Warren from 11 am to 2 pm.
