April is a busy month and we also celebrate National Volunteer Month. During the month of April we will recognize all our wonderful volunteers who do so much for us. Jackie Rudolph was the March winner of volunteer of the month for her many hours of volunteering for many organizations.

April 22 we will have our chicken and biscuit dinner from 4:30-6:30. The cost is a donation and takeouts are available.

The summer boat trip will be on July 29 aboard the Miss Buffalo for a lunch cruise. After lunch we will have a narrated cruise on Lake Erie and off to Buffalo Botanical gardens and a stop on the way home at Braymillers Market. The cost is $84 per person.

It’s wonderful to have hobbies to enjoy! Have you done Brazilian embroidery lately? ACC has 3

different skill levels of classes to offer with instructor Deb Roberts on Wednesdays, April 2, 9, 16, and 23. Beginners meet at 9:30 a.m. for a one-hour class. Advanced embroiderers meet at 11 a.m. for a one-hour class also. At 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. there’s a Best Practices & New Ideas class for everyone interested in Brazilian embroidery. Once-a-month craft classes with Olivia Sechriest now meet the last Monday of each month. The March class on March 31 will provide you with all you need to know to make special embroidered greeting cards. You’re invited to attend this class.

Time’s running out! The VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) preparers, sponsored by RSVP, continue providing their special tax services for the elderly, disabled and low-income residents of both Warren & Forest Counties at no cost through April 15 by appointment only. For tax appointments in Warren at Allegheny Community Center, 42 Clark St., Endeavor at the Township Bldg., Marienville Library, Youngsville Borough Bldg., or Tionesta Library, call Sue or Barb at 230-7222.

ACC is open from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday through Friday with extended hours until 7 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday. ACC is closed for all activities and meals on legal holidays and on those days when Warren County schools are closed unexpectedly due to bad weather. Hot lunches or light alternative lunches are available Monday-Friday at noon. You can call your reservation to 723-3237. Bistro lunch is available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with no reservation required. Take-outs available.

The Warren-Forest Area Agency on Aging will serve the following menu at Allegheny Community Center and other Warren-Forest centers March 31-April 4: soup and sandwich Monday; salsa chicken Tuesday; cabbage roll Wednesday; meatball sub Thursday; and breakfast for lunch Friday. Locations at Marienville, Sheffield, Tidioute and Endeavor will serve menus from Monday, Tuesday and Friday for the three-day sites. Eligible participation is 60 years and older with a suggested donation of $3. Call 723-3763 for information regarding congregate meal sites or center locations. Menu is subject to change based on availability.
