Warren Area High School graduate Tyler Leichtenberger has not allowed an earned run in four appearances thus far for the Rochester Institute of Technology (4-3) baseball team. The senior right-hander has a record of two wins and no losses in 4.2 innings pitched.

Warren Area High School graduate Matt Jaskolka picked up a win on the mound for Bloomsburg University in an 8-7 victory over Lock Haven on Saturday afternoon. Jaskolka (3-1) went 4 2/3 innings, striking out four, and allowing four earned runs.

Big 30 additions

Eisenhower’s Rob Wilston and Alex Johnson were among the most recent additions to this year’s Don Raabe Memorial Big 30 Charities Classic football game, held in August.

Johnson, a running back/linebacker, was voted Second-Team All-State by the Pennsylvania Sporting News and Co-Player of the Year in Region 2. Wilston was given Honorable Mention All-State honors and First-Team All-Region in addition to earning his team’s Offensive MVP award and the award for highest academic football player.


The Warren at Mercyhurst Prep softball game postponed on Tuesday and moved to Friday has been postponed again. It has been rescheduled for 4 p.m. Monday at Harding Field in Erie, with junior varsity to follow.
