It’s time for the annual Fun Auction at the Irvine Presbyterian Church. Join in the laughs Sunday April 6th from 1- 5. There will be all manner of donated goods and services to challenge your bidding skills. On the bidding list, you might find a home cooked meal, baby- sitting, leaf raking, hand-made wood items, hand-knit items, home-made goodies like fudge, pecan pies, bread or brandy, and much more. Snacks, hot sandwiches, and beverages will be sold.
The Irvine Church is one of the County’s Historical treasures. The Auction is one of the most important fundraisers for Church maintenance and grounds improvements at that treasured site.
The fifth week of the Lenten Services of Youngsville Area Ministerium that include Worship followed by a light Luncheon will be held at 12:00 noon on April 2, 2014 at Saron Lutheran Church on 148 W. Main Street West Main Street in Youngsville. Ken Johnson, Lay Leader will be in charge of the Lenten Service. Members of the church will host the luncheon.
The Youngsville Concert Orchestra will perform at Celebrating of Life Gathering at the Conewango Men’s’ Club on Wednesday April 2, 2014 at 5p.m. 6p.m. Dinner will be serve at 6 p.m.
Love INC meeting
The 3rd Annual Love INC Meeting will be held on April 3. It will hosted by Free Methodist Church 179 Davis Street, Youngsville. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. Refreshments offered by the Joyful Cafe Love.
Art and Vino Venue
The 3rd annual Art and Vino Venue will be held Saturday, April 5, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Youngsville Fire Hall. Admission is free.
Enjoy the products of five wineries, retail vendors, food, and music will be available at this event. Art, wine, and beer demonstrations will be held, and amateur wine and beer makers contest winners will be announced. Wine tasting tickets are $10 for those 21 and older, available at Youngsville Pharmacy, Allegheny Artistry, Allegheny Cellars Winery, Warren County Insurance, Hickory Creek Brewing, or by calling 814-730-2899.
Pennsylvania Humanities Council and Warren County Historical Society will present Commonwealth Speaker Steven Anderson and “Homegrown Heroes: Pennsylvania Communities in the Civil War,” at 7 PM on Tuesday, April 8, in the Main Courtroom of the Warren County Courthouse, 204 Fourth Ave., Warren.
Anderson will relate how average folks reacted when war was at their door and prove that heroes don’t always wear uniforms. The event is free and open to the public thanks to sponsorship from the Pennsylvania Humanities Council and the National Endowment for the Humanities.

The next planning meeting for the Corn Festival is Tuesday, April 15, Youngsville Borough Building, 40 Railroad Street at 9 a.m. All are welcome. Corn Festival is scheduled for Aug. 15, 16 and 17. For additional information contact ROY Chairman Ron Young at 563-4722.
Youngsville Borough Offices & Services will be closed on Friday April 18th in observance of Good Friday.
Easter egg hunt
The Pittsfield Community Easter egg hunt will be on Saturday, April 19, at 11 a.m. at Friendship Field with many prizes. The Otter Express Puppets will perform following the hunt at the Pittsfield Community Center. Parking is available behind the community center.
The Pittsfield Community Playground is hoping to get the playground in this Spring. The group has enough to purchase the playground, but still needs enough for the fence. There will be a sub sale on April 12 to benefit the playground. Grab a sub at the Pittsfield Otterbein Church at noon before going back out to fish. The price for the subs are $6 a piece, 2 for $10, or 5 for $20. The choices will be turkey and cheese, or ham and cheese. Saron Lutheran Church 148 W. Main Street, Youngsville, will hold a rummage/bake sale onMay 2 and 3. Friday hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to noon. Friday will be a bake sale as well from 8 a.m. until sold out. Saturday offers $1 per bag.
Spring clean-up will be held on May 3 at the Youngsville Borough building parking lot on 40 Railroad St. from 8 a.m. to noon. Minimum fees are $10.00/car, $20.00/truck. Identification is required.
