Mildred M. Beavers, 103, of Morehead City, NC and a longtime resident of Sugar Grove and Youngsville, passed away Monday, March 24, 2014 at SECU Crystal Coast Hospice House in Newport, NC.
Mildred was born in Bear Lake, PA on November 1, 1910, the daughter of the late Rush and Jessie (Polley) Chapman. She was employed at Walter Hardware, Young’s Furniture, and was selfemployed with home care for many families in Warren County, most recently for 29 years for Dan and Ann Ferman.
She was the widow of William Robert Beavers who died Oct. 19, 1974.
Surviving are a son: James LeRoy (Norma) Smith of Morehead City, NC; a sister, Arlene (Wilbur) Lookenhouse of Lottsville; 2 grandchildren, Kimber Lee (Tony) Scavo, Cary, NC and Kerry Leighton (Patty) Smith of Apex, NC; 4 greatgrandchildren, Nicholas James Scavo, Marisa Ann Scavo, Payton and Porter Smith and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 4 sisters, Marjorie Smouse, Mable Simms, Pauline Hannold and Geraldine Nyquist; and 3 brothers, Harold Chapman, Charles Chapman and Rush Chapman, Jr.
Friends will be received on Saturday, March 29th from 12 p.m. at McKinney Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Inc., 54 West Main St. in Youngsville where a funeral and committal service will be held at 2 p.m. with Rev.
