Betty J. Eastman, 69, of 25 West Main St., Youngsville, passed away Sunday morning, March 23, 2014 at the Warren General Hospital.
Betty was born July 2, 1944, a daughter of the late Lawrence “Pappy” and Lila (Brigham) Wertz. She had previously worked at Star Mfg. in Youngsville, Blair Co. and as a bartender in the area for many years. Betty enjoyed going to the casino, and playing the pull tabs at the legion. In her younger days, she loved to dance. Betty will be missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Christine Renwick of Youngsville, 2 grandchildren: Allison (Aaron) Kitchel of Youngsville and Brad (Brittany) Renwick of Pittsfield, a sister Sally Wertz of Youngsville, a brother Harry Wertz of Pittsfield and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Leonard Wertz in 1985, her long time companion Richard E. Peters in 2006 and a sister Clara Jane Wertz.
Friends will be received on Tuesday (March 25th) from 56 p.m. at which time a memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. at the Nelson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 314 North Main St. in Youngsville, with the Rev. Rick Hamrick, pastor of the Youngsville Free Methodist, officiating.
