LOS ANGELES (AP) – The animated, time-traveling adventures of a dog and his son beat out action heavy tales at the weekend box office.

After opening in second place last weekend, DreamWorks’ “Mr. Peabody & Sherman” came out on top over the St. Patrick’s Day holiday with $21.8 million.
