John R. Olson, 71, of Telic Run Rd., Youngsville, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 16, 2014, at his residence surrounded by his family.
John was born August 25, 1942 near his current home, a son of the late Clarence and Edith (Lind) Olson. He was retired from Osram Sylvania, where he worked as a molder. John was a member of the Teamsters Union, a longtime member and past president of the Warren Co. Horseshoe League, past president of the Youngsville Jaycee’s, and a member of the American Legion and the Amvets of Sugar Grove. He was an avid NASCAR and dirt track racing fan and enjoyed hunting and fishing trips to Canada.
John is survived by his loving wife Pat (Southworth) Olson, 3 children: Rob (Karen) Olson and Ronald Ivan Olson, both of Youngsville, Chris (Rick) Cox, of Dover Pa., a step son, Danny “Valerie” Toplovich of Bear Lake, a stepdaughter, Pauline Toplovich of Corry, grand children; Taylor and Allen Whitacre, Nathaniel and Eric Williams, Justin Giardini, Cassandra, Sabrina, and Chelsey Toplovich, a brother, Arthur Olson of Youngsville and 2 sisters, Edith “Jerry” Lawrence of GA and Marjorie Peters and her companion Ben, of Bear Lake.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his inlaws, George and Bessie Southworth, a sister Joyce Olson and 4 brothers, Carl, Richard, David and Ted Olson.
A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
