Frederick C. Tyers

Frederick C. Tyers, 85, of Youngsville, PA, formerly of Conneautville, PA passed away peacefully at his residence. He was born in Conneaut Lake, PA on April 9, 1928. His parents were the late Samuel W. Tyers and Grayce Custer Tyers. He married Jean M. Mika September 12, 1951. She preceded him in death March 3, 1991 and also by his beloved daughter, Catherine L. Jenkins in January, 2005.

Frederick graduated from Meadville High School in 1946 and was a member of the National Honor Society. Frederick was a selfemployed brick, block and stone mason for over 35 years and built numerous homes and businesses in Crawford County area. While he served our great country in the US Army in 1954 & 55, he studied Engineering at The Engineer School at Fort Belvoir, Virginia.

He was an active member of the New Richmond United Methodist Church in New Richmond, PA until moving to Youngsville, PA in 2011 when he joined the Youngsville First United Methodist Church. During his retirement years, Fred was active in the Oil Region Astronomical Society and spent many hours viewing the stars from his own back yard. He was also a member of the French Creek and the Southwest Florida Archaeological Society. He especially enjoyed his summers gardening.

Survivors include two sons-Fredrick C. Tyers, Jr of Alva, Fla, Lawrence A. (Anne) Tyers of Youngsville, PA; four grandchildren-Andrew Tyers, Alex Burdette, Chad Burdette all of Youngsville, PA, Richard “RJ” (Holly) Jenkins of Texas; two greatgrandchildren Berkley and Baylor of Texas.

There will be no services at his request.
