Love INC meeting
The 3rd Annual Love INC Meeting will be held on April 3, hosted by Free Methodist Church, 179 Davis Street, Youngsville. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. Refreshments will be offered by the Joyful Cafe.
Love INC is a nationally-based Christian, non-profit organization which reaches out to people in need, and made up of 19 partner churches uniting across nine denominations. The organization is governed by a local volunteer board of directors and raise support through tax-deductible gifts from individuals, churches, and/or businesses.
Love INC serve serves people who live in or attend church, or whose children go to school, in the Brokenstraw Valley. Its boundaries are north of Sugar Grove, west of Grand Valley and south to the town of Tidioute, and east of village Irvine.
People in need simply call the group’s clearinghouse where a trained volunteer will listen to their story to determine how Love INC can help. Love Inc. acts as the bridge between those in need and the church, agency, or organization that can meet their needs. A few examples are: food, clothing, furniture, household goods, bedding, baby items, help with household chores, repairs, transportation, firewood, and minor outdoor chores.

Gals from YHS
class of 1968
The women from the Youngsville High School class of 1968 are planning to meet, talk and laugh together once a month. The March lunch will be at Perkins Restaurant in Warren on Friday at 11:30 a.m. Everyone should have received an email invitation. The group has been growing each month. A fundraiser for Pittsfield Community Playground, 258 Dalrymple Street, Pittsfield, is underway. Pastor Steve Gruver has grown a beard and will shave when there is enough money for the playground or not. Those donating to the cause should write in the memo section of their check whether to keep it or shave it to cast a vote. Donations are tax-deductible.
The Youngsville First United Methodist Church is now accepting applications for Preschool. For an application(s) contact the Youngsville First Church at 225 East Main St, Youngsville, or call 814-563- 4021 and leave a message.
The third week of the Lenten Services of Youngsville Area Ministerium that include Worship followed by a light luncheon will be held at noon on March 19 at Evangelical United Methodist Church on 2nd Street in Youngsville. Parking is off Third Street in the front of the Church and handicapped accessible. Pastor Ricky Nelson will preside at the service.
Art and Vino Venue
The 3rd annual Art and Vino Venue will be held Saturday, April 5, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Youngsville Fire Hall. Admission is free.
Five wineries will be on hand, along with retail vendors, food, and music. Art, wine, and beer demonstrations will be presented, and amateur wine and beer makers contest winners. Wine tasting tickets are $10 for those 21 and older, available at Youngsville Pharmacy, Allegheny Artistry, Allegheny Cellars Winery, Warren County Insurance, Hickory Creek Brewing, or by calling 814-730-2899.
First 300 pre-sale tickets will come with 2014 commemorative glass, sponsored by Northwest Savings Bank in a goodies’ bag sponsored by Warren County Insurance/Winans Insurance and Employee Benefits. See www.artandvinovenue.blogspot.com for contest and vendor forms, and updates.
Tickets are available at the library on Friday. the Library opens 12-4 on Friday and the drawing will be Monday, March 16th. This is Youngsville Library’s second major fundraiser next to their Annual Book & Bake Sale in September.
Saron Lutheran Church 148 W. Main Street, Youngsville, Pa., will hold a Rummage / Bake sale on Friday May 02, 2014 and Saturday May 03, 2014 Fridays hours are 8:00 A.M. till 4:00 P.M. and Saturday 8:00 A.M. till Noon. Friday will be a bake sale as well from 8:00 A.M. till sold out. Saturday offers $1.00 per bag.
Alumni golf scramble
The 21st annual YHS Alumni Scholarship Fund Golf Scramble will be held on Saturday, May 17, at Cable Hollow Golf Course. The four-person team event will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. The $220.00 per team entry fee includes greens fees, cart rental, lunch, prizes and a donation to the Scholarship Fund. The year the Scholarship Fund will be awarding scholarships totaling $10,000 to be given several graduating seniors of the class of 2014. Concert and benefit
for Conrad Walton
A Swiss steak dinner will be held at Pittsfield Otterbein Church on March 29 at 6 p.m. A Concert by the band the Circuit Rider 5 will also be performed at 7:15 for this benefit. Contact Church office by March 22 for dinner reservations. Gluten-free dinners are available. Church phone is 563-3333 and is located at 258 Dalrymple St. Pittsfield, PA. A free-will offering will be received for Conrad Walton for his medical expenses.
Alumni picnic planned
The YHS Alumni Picnic is an annual event held the second Tuesday of July. This year the picnic will be held at the Youngsville Fire Hall on July 8 from noon to 4p.m. All YHS graduates are invited. This year event is hosted by the class of 1962; and the class of 1963 is invited as honored guests. All graduates from 1962 and 1963 are especially encouraged to attend and experience this annual reunion along with all other YHS alumni. More detail information will follow in future publications. On Monday, March 10, a planning session took place at Youngsville Hallgren-Wilcox American Legion Post 658 for a motorcycle ride on June 14. The American Legion is looking for new members to ride. In order to become a rider you must be an active member of Youngsville Hallgren-Wilcox Post 658 member, an Auxiliary member, or son of an activeAmerican Legion Post member.
