Janet Louise Hause, 87, of 109 Connecticut Avenue, Warren, died at the Warren Manor on Thursday, March 6, 2014, after a brief illness surrounded by her family. Janet was born February 18, 1927, in Warren, PA, the daughter of the late Lawrence C. Newburg and Lillian F. (Peterson) Newburg.
Upon graduation from Sheffield High School, Janet attended Warren Business College. She was a secretary at the Blair Corporation for twenty years in the Merchandise Division. Janet was a former member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, where she was active in the church council, and was also as a Sunday School Teacher. She later became a member of the First Lutheran Church. Janet loved to listen to gospel music and play the piano. For 10 years, she played the piano for the Sunday services for the Warren Manor. She also enjoyed knitting and spending time with her family and especially with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Richard F. Hause, whom she married on September 16, 1956, in Sheffield, PA; one son, Timothy R. Hause, of Warren, PA, and one daughter, Laura C. McWhirter, and husband, Mike, also of Warren, PA; one brother, Gerald C. Newburg, of Bradford, PA; five grandchildren, Amanda Bosko, Ryan Casey, Sam Lindquist, John Lindquist and Jonah McWhirer; four greatgrandchildren, Kendra, Elizabeth, Kyler and Kaylynn; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 10, at First Lutheran Church, 109 W. Third Ave., Warren, with The Rev. David Blank, and The Rev. Jeffrey Ewing, coofficiating.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to American Diabetes Association, 300 Penn Center Boulevard, Suite 602, Pittsburgh, PA 15235.
