If you need help paying your heating bills or have a heat emergency LIHEAP may be able to help. Stop in the center and we have forms to fill out. Income guidelines are family of one $17,235 and 2 members $23,265.

Julie Carr will be at the center the first Monday of each month to answer questions regarding insurance or Medicare issues

Old outdated medicine hanging around? Bring in your pills and we will see that they are disposed of at the Warren Police Station.

VITA tax time is here, so call 968-5667 to make an appointment. The dates are Feb.21, March 7 and 21 all Fridays. You must have an appointment, so call early. Property tax or rent rebate is also available by calling 968-5667 to make an appointment Monday, Thursday or Friday after 1 p.m.

We are now collecting items for our Easter basket raffle such as canned goods or gift cards call and we will pick them up or just drop them off at the center. The drawing will be held at the firehall bake and craft sale on April 5.

Don’t forget to spring ahead on Saturday night March 9.

The Eldercare Council presents at ACC some training called “Growing Older-What happens now?” another in an ongoing series of educational forums, on Thursday, March 13 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Featured presenter is Dr. Ronald Simonsen of Warren who can utilize more than 50 plus years as a physician specializing in geriatric medicine to present this forum. Everyone is invited to this helpful forum.

The VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) preparers, sponsored by RSVP, continue providing their special services for the elderly, disabled and low-income residents of both Warren & Forest Counties at no cost until April 15 by appointment only. For tax appointments in Warren at Allegheny Community Center, 42 Clark St., Endeavor at the Township Bldg., Marienville Library, Youngsville Borough Bldg., or Tionesta Library, call Sue or Barb at 230-7222.

ACC is open from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday through Friday with extended hours until 7 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday ACC is closed for all activities and meals on legal holidays and on those days when Warren County schools are closed unexpectedly due to bad weather. Hot lunches or light alternative lunches are available Monday-Friday at noon. You can call your reservation to 723-3237. Bistro lunch is available on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with no reservation required. Take-outs available.


The Warren-Forest Area Agency on Aging will serve the following menu at Allegheny Community Center and other Warren-Forest centers March 10-14: stuffed peppers Monday; fish Tuesday; spaghetti Wednesday; ham Thursday; and breakfast for lunch Friday. Locations at Marienville, Sheffield, Tidioute and Endeavor will serve menus from Monday, Tuesday and Friday for the three-day sites. Eligible participation is 60 years and older with a suggested donation of $3. Call 723-3763 for information regarding congregate meal sites or center locations. Menu is subject to change based on availability.
