Who will be the next County Fair Queen?

Contestants are being sought for the 2014 Warren County Fair Queen Pageant to be held in August. Contestants must be 16 years old, but no older than 20 by June 1, 2014. They must be a U.S. citizen, a female, a resident of Warren County and have participated in or attended the Warren County Fair. They must be single, never married, have no children and must not marry or get pregnant during their reign. Girls younger than 18 must have parent or guardian consent. Deadline to apply is April 25.

Applications also are being sought for the Dairy Princess program. The Warren County Fair Princess program is a noncompetitive program designed to get young girls introduced and interested in the Warren County Fair and Fair Queen Pageant. The first 10 paid applications received will be able to participate. Since this is the second year for the princesses program, to make it fair, coordinators are asking for 10 new princesses.

Girls who live in Warren County, ages 6 to 10 as of Aug. 1, 2014, are invited to sign up. All princesses will be introduced and crowned on stage by a 2014 Fair Queen contestant and will receive a T-shirt. A $20 participation fee will apply. Deadline to apply is May 23.

On-line applications for both events can be found at www.warrencountyfair.net and emailed to Risa Owens. For more information, email skowens@verizon.net or call Owens at 563-4014 or 730-6697.
