Mrs. Rose Harriet Sevanick, 94, passed away peacefully at 11:05pm, Tuesday, March 4, 2014 in the Rouse Home following an extended illness. She was born February 5, 1920 in Ludlow to the late Frank and Harriet Gomola Sotkovski.
A lifelong area resident, Rose was a member of St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church Rosary Society. She retired from Blair Corporation after many years service.
She is survived by three sons, John Sevanick and wife Mary, Clinton, CT, James Sevanick and wife Lynn, Apache Junction, AZ, and Michael Sevanick and wife Linda, Johnstown, PA; 11 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her husband John Sevanick whom she married June 22, 1940 in Sheffield at St. Anthony’s Church; a granddaughter Cheryl Sevanick; a sister Mary Giambalvo; and two brothers, Frank and Joseph Sotkovski.
A Divine Liturgy will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 8, 2014, in St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church with Reverend Father Roy Schubert, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Sheffield. Friends will be received on Friday, March7th from 2:004:00 and 7:009:00pm at the BordenLloyd Funeral Home with a Parastas service at 8:00pm.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to St. Michael’s Church or Rouse Home.
