Dennis Arthur Buerkle, age 75, of Mason Road, Warren, passed away Monday, March 3, 2014 at Rouse Home in Youngsville, PA. Mr. Buerkle was born January 28, 1939 in Warren, PA. He is the son of the late Calvin and Eunice (Nelson) Buerkle.
Dennis graduated from Warren High School and was drafted into the Army of the United States in 1961. He was employed by the National Forge Co. in the shipping department, from which he retired after 35 years. Dennis was a member of the Starbrick Community Church. He enjoyed all sports, was an avid bowler, coached little league, and was a fan of NASCAR, the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates, and Penn State. He especially enjoyed attending all of his grandchildren’s activities.
He is survived by his wife, Kay (Sidon) Buerkle, whom he married on July 17, 1965; daughter, Jodi Gozzard, and husband, Daniel, of Allison Park, PA; and one son, Scott Buerkle, and wife, Jean of Warren, PA; two brothers, Calvin Buerkle, and wife, Neuza, of Las Crusas, NM, and Timothy Buerkle, and wife, Kathy, of Sugar Grove, PA; one sister, Ann Buerkle, of Warren, PA; grandchildren, Zakary and Abbie Buerkle, and Katie and Tyler Gozzard; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc., 1003 Penna. Avenue E., Warren, PA from 12 noon to 2 p.m., at which time a funeral service will be held with Rev. Marcus Briggs officiating.
