MS support offered

The Warren Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Support Group will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, in the Slater Room (third floor) of the Warren Public Library. There will be an open discussion and updates from MS patients who started taking the pill form of the latest MS medications; literature will be available. For many the daily pill will seem like a blessing compared to taking a shot weekly, several times a week or even daily. All of the existing MS drugs are believed to slow the progression of the disease. With all of the research and drugs currently available though, there is still not a cure for MS. All we can do is hope a cure will be found until then with our doctors we need to make informed choices about what drugs might help us hold off the advance of MS. Anyone affected by MS, their family, friends and anyone interested in learning more about MS are invited. There is no charge for anyone to attend. The library is handicapped accessible from the rear of the building by parking in the midtown lot. There is an elevator to the third floor. Parking passes are available at the meeting for the midtown so there is not a fee for parking. For more information, call 726-1049 or 688-0251 or email ajrmom@verizon.net; or contact Mary Lee Jackson at the Erie Branch of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society at (814) 464-2900 or (800) 344-4867 or by email at Marylee.jackson@nmss.org.
