Susan Wolfe

Susan L. Wolfe, 66, of Warren, PA, passed away following a brave battle with cancer on Friday, February 28, 2014 at Warren General Hospital. She was surrounded by her loving family and friends. Born in Warren, PA, she was the daughter of the late Willard R. and Margaret S. (Speer) Johnson. Susan was the wife of the late Kenneth B. Wolfe with whom she shared 41 years of marriage.

Susan graduated from Warren Area High School in 1965. She went on to graduate from the Oil City School of Nursing in 1968. Susan worked as an RN in a variety of settings including Warren State Hospital, Warren General Hospital, and Warren Dental Arts. She retired from Warren Dental Arts in 2010 to spend more time with her loving husband and family. Susan was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church where she and Ken were married June 20, 1969.

Susan will be remembered for her generosity and heartfelt kindness. She cherished her family and wonderful friends and was happiest when spending time with them. She enjoyed running, cross country skiing, traveling and attending cultural events in Warren. She particularly enjoyed the time she spent at the family island in Sparrow Lake, Ontario, Canada.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, Robert B. Johnson. She is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Sanchez and her husband, Victor of Landisville, PA and Alyssa Peterson and her husband, Robert, of Manheim, PA; one sister, Stacey Hughes and her husband, Chuck of Steelton, PA; one grandson, Jack; two granddaughters, Kate and Megan; and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Celebration of Susan’s life will be held on Saturday, March 8th at the First United Methodist Church, 200 Market Street, Warren, PA. Family and friends will be received in the Dunham Parlors at 10 AM with an 11 AM service and luncheon to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to either Warren Cancer Center, 2 Crescent Park, Warren PA 16365, or to the First United Methodist Church.
