KofC fish fry

Friday, March 7, at the St. Paul Center begins the Lenten Season Fish Fries put on by the Knights of Columbus of the St. Anthony’s Church in Saybrook. Meals will be served from 5-7 p.m. for a cost of $5 for small or $8 for large, which includes a drink and dessert.

Eat-in or carry-out is available. This will be the 26th year that the Knights of Columbus have been preparing the fish during the Lenten season. They serve between 500 and 600 meals every Friday night for 7 straight weeks. This event takes place with the entire congregation of the St. Anthony’s church. Volunteers either serve the meals, prepare the meals, bake the cakes and pies and work the ticket table. It takes an entire church family to put this together and make sure it runs as smooth as it does every week. Ludlow Youth and a group of Abraxas youth are currently helping out with this as well. For a low price excellent meal you get a great social event on a Friday night in Sheffield.

We were amazed at how many different sizes and patterns they came in!
