Black holes

Dear editor:

Ah, it’s that time of year again: The time when the black holes in the avenues of our community spring forth and wield their ugly heads.

No matter how much your pour down them, they can?t seem to be satiated. The patch all seems to go somewhere else. What was once a small bump in the road now stands poised to consume an entire community’s budget.

We curse and try to negotiate around them, but our efforts are futile because the black holes are self-perpetuating and procreating.

No amount of tax hikes can fix these holes. We careen out of control and towards common disaster: The perpetual pothole of public sector pensions.
