College news

Warren Area High School graduate Matt Jaskolka fired six scoreless innings, allowing just three hits, and striking out four while walking none, in Bloomsburg University’s 9-1 over Apprentice School at the Builder Invitational Baseball Tournament in Newport News, Va. The Huskies (4-2) took third place in the season-opening tournament.

Warren Area High School graduate Kelsey Nuhfer was a part of California University of Pennsylvania’s 400-yard freestyle relay team that finished seventh overall out of 13 in a season-best time of three minutes, 37.33 seconds on Sunday at the PSAC Championships in York.

Warren Area High School graduate Hank Morrison is 3-for-11 with two runs and three RBI in Mercyhurst University’s 3-1 start this weekend as its starting first baseman.

Ike baseball

The Eisenhower Baseball Boosters will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Eisenhower High School cafeteria.

Youth mat

Sheffield’s Nick Knowles (189) and Ethan Finch (85) each finished third in their respective weight classes at the Corry Youth Wrestling Tournament. Finch also placed first, and Tyler Hepinger (90) took third in the Johnsonburg Tournament.

Warren’s Jimmy Kramer placed first in the 11-12-year-old, 85-pound division of the Harborcreek Snow Dog Tournament held Sunday.
