GIRLS HOOPS: WCCS advances in tourney

The Warren County Christian School’s girls basketball team has advanced to the New Penn Christian Conference Tournament semifinal playoffs with a 44-19 win over Jamestown Bethel on Monday at WCCS.

The Lady Lions (11-5), as the fourth seed, jumped out to a 14-2 first-quarter lead over fifth-seeded Jamestown Bethel, which WCCS defeated twice in the regular season.

Allyssa Kerr led WCCS with 14 points, Kaitlin Weidner added 10 and Jess Lauffenburger seven in the win, which moves WCCS into the semifinals on Friday against Erie Bethel at Erie First Christian – a neutral site. Erie Bethel defeated WCCS twice during the regular season.
