The menu for the week will be: Monday hamburger stew, homemade rolls and banana bars for dessert. Thursday’s Birthday luncheon is meatloaf, baked potatoes, vegetable, homemade rolls, birthday cake and ice cream. Friday’s buffet features hot turkey sandwiches among other delights and fruit for dessert.

The weekly highlights are: Monday, we have re-scheduled our ‘Skin Check’ with Missy Cecchetti, CRNP from Kane Community Hospital. This only your upper torso, back, arms and its free from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday get ready for Senior night out with friends for dinner at the ‘New Beginnings’ in Sugar Grove, then stop back to Walmart for some shopping and Dollar Tree. Thursday we celebrate all of February birthdays with a luncheon at noon and a drawing for fresh flowers from Presents & Posies. Make your reservation now by calling 968-5667.

We have our spring fund raiser for ‘Community Day at The Bon Ton on Friday, Feb. 28 and Saturday, March 1.

We have begun to fill our Easter Basket with goodies to have raffled off, maybe there will even be another $50 inside, thanks to a ‘great gal’ who started this tradition, who wouldn’t want a $50 among everything else?

SAVES Brick

Fundraiser

Brick orders are due Feb. 28 ( next Friday already). Mail to AVES or SAVES PTO: 100 N Main St, Clarendon, Pa 16313. Checks payable to SAVES PTO. You can also give to a board member or drop off at school. Many classes are buying as a class and in memory of deceased members.

If you do not have a form, feel free to write on paper. You are allowed 20 characters per line. 4×8 bricks have up to 3 lines – $30 without clip art, $40 with (only 15 characters per line if you want clip art). 8×8 have up to 6 lines – $60 without clip art, $70 with. These will be laid at the entrance of the new addition.

There is one spot left for the March 15 4 p.m. slot for the Jack V. Barner Memorial Bowling Tournament. Donations and sponsorships continue to be greatly accepted.

Sheffield Sports

Boosters

The Sheffield Sports Boosters will be holding their fifth Annual Cash Bash on Saturday, April 26 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the St. Paul Center at 7222 Route 6, Sheffield. The doors open at 6:30 p.m. Only 200 tickets are sold. To get your ticket see a Sports Booster.

Ticket gets ticket holder and one guest into the cash bash. No one under 21 is permitted. Cash drawings will be drawn every 10 minutes for $25, $50, $75 or $100; 10 p.m. is the drawing for $1,000. Door prizes, reverse raffle and pull tickets will be available along with pop and snacks and beer and wine.

Sheffield Township

Supervisors

The supervisors met on Monday, Feb. 17 for their bi-monthly meeting.

The Historical Society is producing a pictorial history focusing on Warren County’s townships. They are asking for our township’s story for this publication.

Hornburg Drilling will be using 4 Mile Road and has asked for an excess weight permit. Suite Kote is offering a breakfast on Thursday, Feb. 27 at 9 a.m. at the Starbrick Volunteer Department to introduce their product line to the townships. The supervisors approved a bid for a repository sale at 1516 Route 948 to Buster Darr.

The Liquid Fuels allocation will be received on March 1 in the amount of $60,615.68 for repairs to the roads in the township. Daniel Pierson, a candidate for Eagle Scout, was present working on his Citizens in Community Merit Badge asked the supervisors and the Chief of Police what can be done in regards to 4-wheelers on state roads. Chief Madigan stated if you can catch them, they would be prosecuted the same as if they were on township roads. Fines would be assessed.

He also asked if there was an ordinance requiring property owners to shovel the sidewalks in front of their properties as well as businesses. Supervisor McMillen informed him that there is no such ordinance, however, property owners are asked to keep their sidewalks clear. Supervisor Bulicz informed it’s a liability issue so most property owners do this to keep everybody safe and clear from danger of falling on their property.
