Senior Center Menu

Thursday, Feb. 20 will be bacon cheeseburgers, dessert and beverages.

Tuesday, Feb. 25 will be chicken filet and macaroni and cheese, dessert and beverages.

Thursday, Feb. 27 will be goulash, dessert and beverages.

On Tuesday, Feb. 11, the 23 people attending the center enjoyed a beautiful pork dinner. They had the chocolate fountain going with seniors bringing in all sorts of items to dip such as strawberries, maraschino cherries, pretzels, chips, marshmallows, Ritz crackers, sponge cake, bananas and cookies.

Margaret Alberth won a free dinner for wearing the most red.

The game 500 was enjoyed by a group of card sharks from the group.

Presbyterian Women’s Association held its meeting and some stayed for dinner following the meeting.

Plans are underway to get the ice cream freeze out and try to make some ice cream.

Seniors will need to purchase a new chocolate fountain.

Tax season is will underway with the only day available for taxes is Thursday, April 10; call Pat at the center at 484-3020 to make an appointment.

Plans are shaping up for the St. Patrick’s Dinner.

Everyone who attended the lunch on Thursday received a box of Valentine candies from Martha Walters.

Be sure to call the center at 484-3020 the day before for lunch or no later than 9 a.m. the day you want to come.

Lunches are served on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at noon.

Youth Dance/

Formal Ball

There will be a Formal/Semi Formal Winter Ball, on Friday, Feb. 21 at the Tidioute Firehall from 7 to 10 p.m. for students in grades 5 through grade 12.

Cost is $4 per person.

Refreshments will be available for purchase.

Chili Cook-Off

There will be a Chili Cook-Off on Sunday, Feb. 23 at Tippy Canoe.

All entries have to be in by noon.

Judging will start at 1 p.m., you must have your own crock pot and ladle; there is no entry fee.

Two categories this year of hot and regular.

First-place prizes will awarded for both categories.

Little League Sign-Ups

Little League Baseball sign-ups for boys and girls ages 4 through age 18 will be held at Buccardo’s Restaurant on Feb. 22 and March 1 from 10 a.m. till noon.

Pancake Supper

Tidioute First United Methodist Church will be holding its annual Pancake Supper for Shrove Tuesday on March 4 from 5 till 7 p.m.

Menu will consist of pancakes, sausage, eggs, and juice.

Cost is $5 per person.

Chinese Auction

The Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 8803 will be sponsoring a Chinese Auction on Saturday, March 8 to coincide with the Chili Cook-Off at the VFW

Anyone wishing to make a donation of items for the Chinese Auction may contact Bev Stotler at 484-3549 or Barb Downey at 589-7508 or you can leave your items at the VFW Post home.

Proceeds from this auction will benefit cancer research.

Benefit Dinner

There will be Spaghetti Dinner on March 9 at Trails End Restaurant and Lounge from noon 6 p.m.

Also there will be a Chinese Auction.

This benefit dinner is for Art and Dawn Kriebel, who were injured in early September in a motorcycle accident. Art was off work for several months due to his injuries and only recently returned to work on light duty. Dawn is still in a coma and needs 24-hour care.

Art is the son of Lee and Bonnie Kriebel of Lucinda. Art’s siblings are Bill Kriebel , Terry Hartle, Kate Gatesman, Laurie Ditz, and Mark Kriebel, all local residents.

Anyone who can not make the fundraiser and is wishing to make a donation, they can send their donations to Laurie Ditz, FBO Art Kriebel, 309 Huefner Springs Road, Shippenville, PA 16254

Walk In Appointments

Tidioute Health and Dental Center is now accepting walk-in appointments for medical patients.

Lab draw times are also changing to 7:30 a.m. on Tuesdays.

If you prefer to make an appointment, call 484-3096 Monday through Fridays 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.



Tidioute Community Charter School will hold registration for K-4 and K-5 on Monday, March 3 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Tidioute Community Charter School will provide busing for K-5 students, however they do not provide transportation for students in K-4.

Both programs run from 7:55 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Read, Read, Read

The Library at Tidioute Community Charter School is starting the Reading Challenge once again.

All student have received a letter detailing the program and a reading log.

Take time to encourage your children to read every day.

Music Program

The Spring Concert at Tidioute Community Charter School is scheduled for Monday, May 8 at 6:30 p.m.

Students are asked to wear dressy clothing (dresses and ties).


There will be an auction on Saturday, March 15 at 3 p.m. at Buccardo’s Restaurant. Doors will open at 2 p.m.

This is open to the public and all are invited.

Items such as toys, clothing, and knick knacks will be up for bid.

Proceeds benefit the Pennsylvania State Championship Fishing Tournament.

Adult Dance

A “Have Fun With It” Adult Dance will be held on Saturday, April 21 from 9 p.m. to midnight at the Tidioute Firehall.

You must be at least 18 to attend this dance and it is a B.Y.O.B. event.

Have fun with what you wear to this dance! Want to dress up? Go ahead! Want to dress for your favorite decade? Do it! How about a toga party? That’s cool too! Just have fun with it.

Snacks will be available.

Music will be provided by the Brown Boyz.

Come out and support a great cause.

Catch up with old friends, meet new ones, and even if you don’t dance or drink…come out to socialize.

Cost is $10 per person at the door.

Proceeds to benefit Allyvia Morgan’s People To People trip to Harvard University this summer.

St. John Ladies Guild

Members of St. John Ladies Guild will be selling homemade potato and cheese and potato and sauerkraut pierogi every Saturday beginning March 8 from 1 until 5:30 p.m., and ending on April 12.

The cost will be $8 per dozen, $5 per half dozen.

Advance orders are preferred by Thursday evening of each week.

Cookie Booths

There will be cookie booth sales at Northwest Savings Bank in Tidioute on Friday, Feb. 21 from 3:30 to 6 p.m.

Also, they will be available at Philips Auto Care on Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. till 5 p.m.
