Wayne A. Mahaffy, age 93, of Mars, died on Tuesday evening, February 11, 2014 at Concordia of Cranberry, with his family at his side.

Born in Warren, PA on June 20, 1920, he was the son of the late Perry and Ula Woodruff Mahaffy.

Wayne spent his entire career with the United States Postal Service in Michigan, California and Pennsylvania, before retiring as a postal inspector in 1975.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army during W.W. II and Korea. A collector of W.W. II model aircraft, he also enjoyed baking and woodworking.

Wayne was a member of the Mars United Presbyterian Church, where he had been an Elder and was active on the ATeam.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 64 years, Kathryn Karl Mahaffy, who he married on May 3, 1941, and who died on September 1, 2005.

Surviving are two daughters, Judith Levenstein and her husband, Alan of Northridge, CA., and Cristine Graham and her husband, William of Mars, a son, David Mahaffy and his wife, Peg of Kewadin, MI, five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Gwen Anderson and his brother, Roger Mahaffy
