GIRLS HOOPS: Sheffield ends with loss

JOHNSONBURG – After defeating Johnsonburg earlier this season, Sheffield’s girls basketball team let the last game of the season get away from them, losing 64-38 at Johnsonburg.

“We didn’t end the season the way we wanted to, but we made a lot of progress during this rebuilding year,” said Sheffield coach Jaimie Ely, whose Wolverines finish 6-15 overall. Johnsonburg was 6-16.

“None of the girls who finished the season are graduating, so we will have the same team returning next year and can make a run for a winning season,” said Ely.

Sheffield junior Jen Isenberg was held to 12 points in the loss, but she finished the season just short of 400 points in 21 games, and is closing on 1,000 career points for next season.
