Mayor Pam McLaughlin reported several complaints about people being out on the ice on the Rive and Creek.

Council would like to remind residents and visitors of the dangers of the River and the Ice. Please Do Not go out on the river or creeks at this time of year. With the weather conditions we have been having this winter, response time and rescue efforts are cut short. Once you are in those freezing waters you won’t have much of a chance.

Mayor McLaughlin also requests that you clear your sidewalks of the snow and ice as best you can as the kids are walking in the streets since the sidewalks are covered with so much snow. Also, if the mail carrier cannot get through, your mail could be very late. Please consider the safety of others as they do their jobs.

Deer issues are big once again in the borough. The Mayor, with the support of council advises residents to stop feeding the deer in the borough and to also take in your bird feeders at night to discourage the deer from coming into your yard to from those feeders.

Fast driving through the streets has also be an issue. Please slow down and watch for the children or others walking and crossing the streets.

Heaters, wood stoves and other heating units should be checked to make sure they are in good working order and do not use extension cords on space heaters. Please check your chimneys to make sure they are clean and have no build up.

Jeremy Nicholson has been appointed to fill the vacancy on Southwest Warren County Municipal Authority board.

House numbers are missing on several residents, council is encouraging residents to place their house number in a visible spot on the front of their home to help emergency responders locate your home in case of an emergency. Also, it would help during mail delivery to be able to see a house number.

Permission was granted to accept the treasurers report and pay the bills.
