WRESTLING: Eagles defeated by D-10 champ Reynolds at Class AA tourney

SHARON-Youngsville’s first trip to the District 10 Class AA team wrestling duals ended at the hands of powerhouse Reynolds High School in the first round, 68-6, Saturday at Sharon High School.

Jaykup Durlin recorded the Eagles’ only win via pinfall over Reynolds’ Robert Foulkrod in the 220-pound match.

“We knew going in that it would be tough to beat Reynolds,” said Youngsville coach Scott Ishman. “It was more about the experience; our young kids got a chance to see what Sharon was all about and they all wrestled pretty hard. Tournaments like that give you a good idea of where you’re at and I’m proud of the way they competed.”

Reynolds went on to win the eight-team tournament with a 39-18 win over Fort LeBoeuf in the final. Greenville defeated Saegertown in the third-place match to round out the District 10 qualifiers for next week’s PIAA Class AA Tournament.
