Rosemary Emery, 85, passed over Thursday, January 23, 2014 at her home in Harbor Creek, with her loving family at her side.
Rosemary was born on May 23, 1928 in Struthers, Ohio to Earl and Marie Taylor Moore. She graduated from Struthers High School in 1948 and in 1950, she married Alva Vincent Emery.
They shared over fifty happy years of marriage together, living in Shaker Heights, OH and then retiring to Tidioute, PA. Rosemary resided in Harborcreek, PA for the last ten years, living at Brevillier Village and eventually resided with her daughter, Mary and family.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband Alva Emery, a sister, Francena Codrea, brothers, Jake Moore, Earl Moore, Dana Moore, and Neal Moore Rosemary is survived by her sister Phyllis Wilson, of Cincinnati, Ohio and her children James and (Colleen) Emery, Joe and (Tina) Emery, Regina Emery, Mary and (Scott) Peterseim and John and (Katie) Emery. Her beloved grandchildren include Kelby, Shaylinn, Josh, Allyson, Hannah, Tyler, Kate, Anna and Erin.
Rosemary was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church of Tidioute, PA. She enjoyed playing bridge, scrabble and poker and was an avid gardener, chef and pianist. Rosie was an avid Cleveland Indian fan. She was very proud of her nine grandchildren and followed their growth and activities with rapt interest.
Funeral services will be held at the Monastery of the Benedictine Sisters of Erie, 6101 East Lake Rd, Monday Jan. 27. Friends and family are invited to call at 3 pm. There will be a memorial prayer service at 4 pm.
She will be interred at the Riverside Cemetery in Poland, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Regional Hospice of Erie or Mount St. Benedicts.
