RUSSELL SOUTHWELL

Russell C. (Bub) Southwell, age 62, of Stone Hill Road, Warren, PA, died Monday, January 20, 2014 at Saint Vincent’s Hospital in Erie, Pa.

He was born February 25, 1951 in Jamestown, NY, a son of the late Russell Wm. Southwell and Sophie (Lehmann) Southwell. Bub was selfemployed, owning R C Southwell, producing oil and gas based in Warren, PA with operations in Warren and Chautauqua counties. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved plants and animals. He fed deer and turkey throughout the winter months and raised pigeons his entire life. He especially loved his 2 cats Moe and Mini Me. He was a huge fan of the Buffalo Bills & Sabers as well as the one armed bandits at the Seneca Casino. He enjoyed all family gatherings and holidays.

He is survived by his nine siblings, Bettye Mott, Mary Jane Dersam, Romona Wolcott, Linda Haner, Lawrence Southwell and Rosalie Southwell all of Sugar Grove, PA., William Southwell of Warren, PA, Rebecca (Willard) Hitchcock, Russell, PA, and Madeline Southwell, Youngsville, PA, as well as 24 nieces and nephews and several greatnieces and nephews. Bub is also survived by his close friends Ted Carrington, Jerry Siliano, and Frank Papalia.

Friends will be received Thursday, January 23rd from 3 7 p.m. at the Sugar Grove Free Methodist Church recreation building, 210 Jamestown St. A funeral service will be held at the church on Friday, January 24th, at 11a.m. with 1 hour visitation prior to the service with the Rev. Billy Hughes, pastor, officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family in the South Ridge Cemetery on Pine Ridge Road in Sugar Grove, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Don Mills Achievement Center, 677 Hospital Dr., North Warren, PA 16365, Warren Cancer Center or Hospice of Warren County, both located at 2 Crescent Park, Warren, PA 16365, or to a charity of choice.
