GIRLS HOOPS: Sheffield falls at home

Sheffield is 2-10 after a 46-30 loss to visiting DuBois Central Catholic in a crossover District 9 game on Friday at Sheffield High School.

“The score tonight did not reflect the team effort that was put in and the improvements that were made this evening,” said Sheffield coach Jaimie Ely. “Having eight of the girls play both J.V. and varsity did tire them out, so that when we had to try to make a move during the fourth quarter and play a bit more aggressively. We weren’t able to make up the four baskets we needed when the quarter started. We came together as a team for most of the game tonight and now we can build off of that for the remaining games of our season.” DCC outscored Sheffield 12-4 in the fourth to pull away.
