Belt promotion

Nicholas Brooks, member of Tigers After School Karate, was recently tested and promoted by Fighting Tigers Martial Arts Soke Master Instructor Kimio Nelson. Brooks was promoted to yellow belt in Kaneda Goshin Jutsu after he underwent an examination on his knowledge of karate basics and self-defense techniques.

Junior High basketball

The Beaty-Warren Middle School 8th grade boys basketball team has won on back to back days, defeating Bradford Middle School 46-37 on Monday and Sheffield Middle School 40-18 on Tuesday.

During Monday’s content, Elliott Gross led Beaty with 17 points and Andrew Davidson also was in double figures with 10. Kohl Nosel scored nine points, Rylan Fitzgerald had four, Adam Irwin finished with three, Colby Johnson scored two and Mitchell Bryant added one point in the win.

On Tuesday, Fitzgerald finished with a team high 10. Gross, Johnson and Matt Leonard all scored six, Davidson chipped in four and Nosel, Irwin, Nathan Betts and Chris White each scored 2 points in the victory.
