Warren General Auxiliary offers scholarships
Warren General Hospital Auxiliary will again offer scholarships to all Warren County residents now enrolled or planning to enroll full-time in courses leading to certification and/or licensure in a professional health care field. Health care courses must be part of the curriculum each semester. The money can be used for tuition, room, board and/or books. To help more area students, the Auxiliary scholarships have been changed to annual scholarships, not renewable. Applicants denied scholarships in a previous year are encouraged to reapply if their status now fits the required criteria.
To receive an application, interested applicants should submit a typewritten introductory letter that includes the following information: their interest in the health care field; their financial need; their experience, if any, in the health care field; any other volunteer experience or employment; and when and where they plan to take their training. This information must be mailed to the Warren General Hospital auxiliary president, postmarked on or before March 7. Promptness is important; no letters will be considered after the deadline. No hand delivered letters will be accepted.
If the above criteria are met, the WGH Auxiliary Board will send the qualified applicants a scholarship application for completion. This application, plus a FAFSA or SAR financial aid form, a transcript of current grades and written recommendations from three unrelated persons, must be returned to the WGH Auxiliary president, postmarked on or before April 4. o applications will be considered after the deadline. No hand delivered applications will be accepted. Personal interviews will be arranged for qualified applicants in May and June.
All correspondence should be addressed to Warren General Hospital Auxiliary President, Two Crescent Park West, P.O. Box 68, Warren, PA 16365.
