HAROLD WOLBERT

Harold Wolbert, 81, of Pittsfield, passed away peacefully Friday January 10, 2014 his residence, surrounded by his family.

Harold was born October 3, 1932 in Pittsfield a son of the late Frances James and Mable Veronica (Rhoades) Wolbert. He served in US Army during the Korean War. Harold was retired from the National Forge after 39 years of employment working in the Heat Treat Dept. He was a member of the Youngsville American Legion Post # 658, a former member of the Youngsville and Garland Vol. Fire Depts., and he enjoyed hunting, NASCAR racing, eating out, and spending time with his family and many friends.

Harold is survived by his children, Cindy S. Wolbert of Pittsfield, Kenneth (Virginia) Wolbert of Irvine and Lawrence (Linda) Wolbert of Youngsville, his companion, Gerry Jackman of Columbus, a sister, Margaret Williams of Corry, 4 grandchildren and 4 step grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 32 step great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Mae Jones Wolbert, whom he married October 15, 1955, and who died September 28, 2009, a sister Beatrice Eckman, his step mother, Sarah Blum Wolbert, a brother William Wolbert, a sister in law Elizabeth Wolbert, and a step sister Mary Blum.

The family wishes to thank all the Hospice nurses and caregivers that have helped, especially Tara Simmons.

A funeral service will be held at the Nelson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 314 North Main St., in Youngsville on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m., with the Rev. Larry Myers, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Corry, officiating. Friends will be received on Monday from 37 p.m., and for one hour prior to the service, in the funeral home. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Pittsfield. Members of the Youngsville American Legion Honor Guard will provide full military honors at the funeral home.
