Warren’s wrestling match at Oil City that was postpone don Tuesday due to weather will be made up on Friday, Jan. 31.

The Warren girls basketball game at Fort LeBoeuf postponed on Tuesday will be made up on Wednesday, and the junior varsity and varsity games have been moved to Warren Area High School.

Warren will in turn travel to Fort LeBoeuf on Jan. 27.

The Warren boys basketball game at Girard postponed on Tuesday will be made up on Tuesday, Feb. 18, at Girard.

The Jamestown (N.Y.) at Warren freshmen boys basketball game postponed on Monday will be made up at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13, at Warren Area High School. This game will take the place of the East game, rescheduled for this day, which is now canceled due to lack of players for East.

The Sheffield junior high boys basketball games at Ridgway postponed on Monday will be made up at 4 and 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, at Ridgway Elementary School.


Russell’s Mariette Williams, a member of the Lakewood Starz gymnastics team, competed at the Warren Invitational on January 4 and 5.

In the Level 5, 11 and Up division, Williams placed first on bars, scoring an 8.65, second on beam at 8.20, third on vault at 8.70, and second all-around at 31.80.

Wrestling rankings

Updating Dan Albaugh’s District 10 and Northwest Region AA wrestling rankings (“”>, Youngsville freshman Nathan Lehman is ranked sixth in D10 at 106 pounds, Eisenhower senior Levi Stanko sixth at 145, Eisenhower sophomore Louie Head sixth at 152, Youngsville senior Jeremy Lyon fifth at 170, and Youngsville senior Jaykup Durlin fourth at 285.

Head is also rated sixth at 152 in the Northwest Region, and Durlin fourth at heavyweight.

Big Fish Triathlon

The 2014 Chautauqua Lake Big Fish Triathlon will be held at 8 a.m. Saturday, June 7, according to race directors, Patty and Bob Gabreski, formerly of Warren.

The Big Fish Triathlon is an event held from the grounds of YMCA Camp Onyahsa, Dewittville, N.Y., in order to raise funds for special camp projects. The organizing committee for the race is totally volunteer and draws on an additional 250 local fire, police and rescue personnel to assure contestant safety. The race is a sanctioned Olympic-distance triathlon (.93-mile swim, 24.8-mile bike and 6.2-mile run) and is open to all over the age of 16 – as individual contestants and relay teams.
