‘Dining with Diabetes’

“Dining with Diabetes” will be offered by Penn State Cooperative Extension Jan. 8, 15 and 22 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. or 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Topics will include important numbers, planning healthy meals, healthy food preparation and physical activity. In addition to class handouts and test results, participants also receive a variety of resources, including a complete collection of Dining with Diabetes recipes. Fee is $40 per person ($55 per family); free for Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries. For information or registration, call 563-9388.

AOC on the move

On Tuesday, Jan. 14, the Allegheny Outdoor Club (AOC) will hold its quarterly planning meeting at the home of Debra and John Young at 1588 Townline Rd., Russell. The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a tureen dinner followed by the planning meeting where we will schedule events for the remainder of January, February, and March. If you want to lead an event but cannot make it to the meeting, e-mail your event to john.young@eaglezip.net.
