GIRLS HOOPS: Lady Dragons fall to McDowell

ERIE-The Lady Dragons fell to McDowell by a score of 42-38 in a non-region game Saturday at McDowell High School.

Warren put together a strong fourth quarter after falling behind early, but the Dragons couldn’t overtake the host Trojans as they drop to 6-2. McDowell, which is one of the schools Warren will play in Class AAAA next season, is now 5-4.

“They didn’t come ready to play,” said Warren coach Lisa Ruhlman. “It was a pretty close game most of the way. (McDowell) went on a run and took a seven-point lead at the half. We came back in the third, and the next thing you know, they had us down ten.”

D.J. Hahn led the Lady Dragons with 12 points, Paige Wilson added seven, and Alexa Bupp had six. Wilson led the team with eight rebounds.

Warren returns to action in a Region 6 contest Tuesday at Fort LeBoeuf.
