Juanita “May” Sondericker, 93, of 100 Mason Rd., Starbrick, and formerly of N. Warren, passed away peacefully Friday, January 3, 2013 at her residence, surrounded by her family.
She was born November 3, 1920 in Olean, N.Y., a daughter of the late John and Lydia (Butterfield) Franklin. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Warren and a former member of the Eastern Star. Juanita was formerly employed at the Blair Corp. and she enjoyed traveling with her husband, sewing, camping and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her 3 children, Lee (Cindy) Sondericker Jr. of Bridgeport, W.V., Gail (Ray) Barr of Sheffield, Larry (Lanora) Sondericker of Starbrick, grandchildren, Adam (Jennifer) Sondericker, Kara Tustin, Michael (April) Barr, Rusty Barr, Ronda (Brian) Retterer, Molly (Andrew) Ackley, 10 great grandchildren, and 2 sisters, Alice Elliot of Smethport and Dorothy Norton of Florida.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lee Sondericker Sr., whom she married March 2, 1946 in Batavia, N.Y., and who died July 18, 1997, a brother Robert Franklin and a sister Mary Franklin.
Friends will be received on Tuesday at the Nelson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 314 N. Main St. in Youngsville from 10 a.m. until noon, at which time a funeral service will take place with the Rev. George Johnson, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Warren, officiating. Burial will follow in Warren County Memorial Park.
