GIRLS HOOPS: Sheffield, Youngsville, Ike lose girls games

Sheffield fell to 2-6 on the season after a 52-26 loss to Elk County Catholic, despite a solid effort to start the game.

“It was disappointing that they started off so well and they let it go away,” said Sheffield coach Jaimie Ely. “They played without the confidence. They have the ability and they didn’t show it.

“The passing-which we improved upon-we reverted back to the first game with terrible passes,” she said.

Jen Isenberg led the Wolverines with 15 points.

“Jen really picked it up for the rest of the team. But we need a five-girl effort, not a one or two-girl effort,” Ely said. “That’s what it’s been lately and we need to make that adjustment.”
