Winter trap

Busti was the top team with the season-high number of 163 shooters in the Penn York Winter Trap League this week at the Sugar Grove AmVets Post 50.

Ryan Bush (43) was the high sub junior, Michael McDunn and Andrew Hvizdzak (47) tied for high junior and Cindy Cable (48) was the high lady. Dave Straight (49) was the high vet, Dick Starks (49) was the high senior vet and Jack Kostkas (47) was the high super senior vet.

Sunday’s shoot completed the first half of the season. Kalbfus won the first half, ahead of Sugar Grove by just one point. Busti took third place – just one point ahead of Brokenstraw.

The top ten shooters so far are: McDunn, Jon Shelton, John Pearson, Colton Black, Vern Brown, Bob Gregerson, Bob Faga, Kevin Sturzenbecker, Scott Currie and Kirk Decker.

Next week’s shoot will be at the Busti Trap Club.

College news

Warren Area High School graduate Tyler Fantaskey tallied 28 points, nine rebounds, and two assists in a pair of games this weekend for the Pitt-Bradford men’s basketball team to earn a spot on the Albright All-Tournament Team. The Panthers defeated Farmingdale State, 74-73, on a last second shot before falling to host Albright in the championship game, 79-71.
