YHS?Nat’l Honor Society holds food drive
On Thursday, Dec. 19, the Youngsville High School National Honor Society delivered canned and nonperishable items from a Youngsville High School food drive to the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Youngsville.
Throughout the month of December, National Honor Society members have been collecting various food items from their classmates and YHS faculty and staff for local families to enjoy during the holiday season. The National Honor Society, with advisor Char Eggleston, came up with the idea at one of its meetings to help out our Youngsville families. Thanks to everyone’s hard work and effort, many families will benefit from this food drive.
In response to the food drive, YHS librarian Heather Tome and her daughter, Samantha, Co-President of the YHS National Honor Society said, “We do this every year as a group, and it is really great to help out the area. We got a lot of items in from this project, and we are really glad that families will have food.” Another member of the YHS National Honor Society, Piper Olsen stated, “We hope to continue giving back to our community this year and to continue this tradition for the upcoming years.”
