Elizabeth “Betty Jean” Johnson, 90, of Warren, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Rouse Home of Youngsville.
Elizabeth was born July 12, 1923, in Warren, the daughter of the late August R. and Ethlyn George Peterson. She was a graduate of Warren High School, and the Katherine Gibbs College, obtaining a degree in Business. Elizabeth was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, the Woman’s Club, the Antique Study Club, and the Garden Club. She also enjoyed antiquing, traveling, reading, music, the arts, and especially being with family and friends.
Elizabeth was a loving mother, grandmother, and greatgrandmother. Her beautiful blue eyes, her incredible smile, and sense of humor will be greatly missed.
She is survived by a her son, James R. Johnson and his wife Jolene, Warren, PA; her daughter, Jane Hively and her husband Bob, Rochester MN; her grandchildren, Cristina Notermann and her husband Tony, MN, Jennifer Mickleson and her husband Eric, MI, Madison Hively, MI, Raymond Johnson, Pittsburgh, Craig Johnson, Warren, Andy Skerda and wife Stephanie, Warren; greatgrandchildren, Tyler and Ben Notermann, and Ryan and Kendal Skerda.
In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death in 1989 by her husband, Robert S. Johnson
A private chapel service was held on Sunday, December 22, at the Oakland Cemetery, Warren, PA. Pallbearers for burial were Raymond Johnson, Craig Johnson, Andy Skerda, and Ryan Skerda.
A memorial service is planned and will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made the Warren County Humane Society, 212 Elm Street, Warren, PA 16365 or to the Warren Library Association, 205 Market Street, Warren, PA 16365.
