GIRLS HOOPS: Ike, Sheffield pull down wins

UNION CITY – Eisenhower is 3-4 after a 41-37 non-region win on a strong 15-5 fourth quarter.

“We kind of came out in the third quarter and had some foul trouble,” said Ike coach Mike Logue. “Toy had 10 of her 14 in the third quarter. We needed to calm down and in the fourth quarter – our guards settled down, took care of the basketball and our bigs took care of the rebounding.

“… The fact we were down and able to come back and take this game, hopefully we can build upon this,” he said. “They had their hearts… in this game.”

Holly Chapman had six of her 10 points in the 15-5 fourth, and Mallory Trumbull hit two key free throws to put Eisenhower up four. Chapman added 15 rebounds, Trumbull 15 and Kirsten Baran seven for the game.
