Louis N. Raub

Louis Nicholas Raub of Errol Estates in Apopka, died peacefully at the Hos-pice of the Comforter on December 6, 2013. His last days were made easier by being in the midst of his family, just the way he would have wanted it. Lou was born in Erie Pennsylva-nia, the son of Ruth and Louis Raub.

Lou graduated from Cathedral Prep High School and then Gannon University with a degree in Business and Finance. In addition, he graduated from Northwestern University Graduate Trust School in Chicago.

Lou began his career as a stockbroker in his home-town of Erie, Pennsylvania. He then moved as a Trust Investment Officer at Mahoning Bank in Youngstown, Ohio. His next professional move was to the Trust Investment Department at Mellon Bank in Pittsburgh where he earned the early success of becoming Vice President. He eventually moved to Florida to initiate the Mellon Trust Depart-ment in Sarasota. He fin-ished his banking career with Southeast/First Union Bank. After “retiring” from the banking industry Lou began his own trust invest-ment business, Southeast Investment Services Com-pany, which he success-fully continued until 2008. One of the highlights of his year was going on his an-nual hunting trip with his sons, son-in-law, and numerous friends. It was bittersweet that he left this Earth during this favorite time of year. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Slater Raub, and was a great fa-ther to sons, Slater, Bart, and Greg (Amy) and daughters, Mimi Reeves, and Ginna (Tim) Foster; and he leaves 9 grand-children. In addition to his annual hunting trip, Lou enjoyed fishing, bridge, golf, tennis, crib-bage, and the History Channel. Lou requested a celebration of his life events with his friends in Florida (January) and another at his beloved hunting cabin in Warren, Pennsylvania (August).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to the Harbor House of Central Florida (a shelter for abused women), P.O. Box 680748, Orlando, Florida 32868.
