Committee decorates Pine Grove for Christmas

The Pine Grove Beautification Committee (PGBC) has prepared the township for celebrating Christmas 2013. Rodney Lindell and Ray Harris installed Christmas banners in the villages of Russell and Akeley. The “Welcome to Pine Grove” sign is decorated with two wreaths with red bows.

A Christmas wreath was purchased from the American Cancer Society to be placed at the township office building in memory of former member Ann Putnam Mallinson. Charley Morrison decorated the gazebo and the spruce tree with many colored lights.

In other matters, the group cleaned the flower beds for winter and planted spring bulbs. Tree and shrub maintenance was performed at the welcome sign and gazebo area.

A donation was received from Jack and Barb Carlson. Donations can be sent to PGBC at P.O. Box 404, Russell, PA 16345.

The public is invited to take a Christmas light drive through Russell, especially Cider Mill Hill Road for a spectacular show.
