GIRLS HOOPS: Knights, Eagles get girls victories

The Lady Knights’ home opener went according to plan Wednesday night, as they improved to 2-1 on the season with a 53-32 non-region win over Otto-Eldred at Eisenhower High School.

Ike held the visitors to just four points in the first quarter, and outscored Otto in each frame.

“We played very well,” said Eisenhower coach Mike Logue. “I thought the defense started to come together and we started to get more into pushing the ball and playing to our strengths.”

Kristin Williams led a balanced Ike attack with 15 points, Holly Chapman added 12, and Mallory Trumbull pitched in eight. Chapman pulled down 10 rebounds to record a double-double, while Trumbull and Danielle Bradish each finished with five.
