BOYS HOOPS: Dragons rout St. Marys

FRANKLIN – After eight straight Warren County Tip-Off Tournament titles, and a 2-0 start last year at the Warren County Tip-Off Classic, Warren’s boys basketball team started 1-0 away from home this year.

The Dragons outscored St. Marys 18-2 in the third quarter, takiing off for a 65-30 win on Friday at the Franklin Tip-Off Tournament. Warren plays Franklin – a winner of VisionQuest – at 8:30 p.m. Saturday at Franklin High School for the tourney title.

Tanner Stanz scored six points and Max Gross and Jake McBride five each in the 18-2 stanza that broke open an already 35-18 halftime lead.

Gross led Warren with 13 points and four steals, Stanz added 12 points and five steals, and McBride 11 points. Collin Fantaskey had eight rebounds and four assists, Jacoby Passmore and Ryan Gustafson had four assists each for Warren, and Scott Vasilisin four steals.
