DONNA MAE JOHNSON

Donna Mae Johnson, 82, of East Woodcrest Drive, Warren, Pa., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at the John and Orpha Blair Hospice House.

Donna was born March 27, 1931 in Custer City, Pa. She is the daughter of the late Harry Frederick and Emma Marie Johnson Strand.

Donna was a 1949 graduate of Bradford High School and had worked as a bookkeeper for Bradford National Bank, prior to marriage. She and her late husband were very active members of the Bethlehem Covenant Church, and were currently attending the Pleasant Community Church, where she was active in the Christian Women’s Organization. She was also a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. Donna enjoyed gardening and feeding the birds. She loved to bake cookies, pies, and breads. Her Swedish Rye bread was a most coveted gift. Most of all, Donna loved her family, and her Lord. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by three daughters, Linda Feather and husband Bruce of Bear Lake, Pa, Karen KnightGriffith and husband Jeff of Pleasantville, Pa. Cheryl Vogel and husband Paul of Papillion, NE, and two sons, Jeffery Johnson of Warren, Pa., John Johnson and wife Leslie, also of Warren, Pa; three sisters, Anna Graham and Virginia Randolph, both of Bradford, Pa., Sarah Lanier, of Griffin, GA, and one brother: William Strand of Warwick, RI; nine grandchildren, Marie, Christina, Paul, McCall, Brian, Scott, Justin, Timothy and Peter; one great grandson, Stephen; two sistersin law; Anna Drum and Ruth Morris; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death on August 8, 2012, by her husband John A. Johnson, Jr., whom she married on July 24, 1954, in Bradford, Pa; one sister, Shirley Layton; and two daughters in law, Monica Johnson, and Michel Johnson.

Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, 1003 Penna. Ave. E., Warren, Pa. 16365, on Saturday December 7, 2013 from 1 to 4 p.m., and at the Pleasant Community Church, 673 Pleasant Dr., Warren, Pa, on Sunday, December 8, for one hour prior to a funeral service to be held there at 2 p.m., with Rev. Michael Poindexter, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery.
